W/BRIANA RAYNER AND NICOLE PASSMORE
It's never just what we say that matters, but how we say it. With a focus on different styles of narration and the specific tools used to execute them, this workshop led by Virginia Jack (Briana Rayner & Nicole Passmore) will help you find variety in shaping your narrative work. Whether it's strange, beautiful, epic, or anything in between, you'll learn how to say it with style.

Nicole Passmore is an improviser and comedian who has been performing for nearly 20 years, and teaching improv for over a decade. Originally hailing from Instant Theatre in Vancouver, Nicole is now a performer, director, and faculty member with the Bad Dog Theatre Company in Toronto. Whether solo or with one of her troupes (Virginia Jack; Benjamins), she has performed at festivals across North America, including Improvaganza (Edmonton), Combustion (Toronto), VIIF (Vancouver), MPROV (Montreal), Stumptown (Portland), Out of Bounds (Austin), and the Detroit Improv Festival. Nicole is an understudy for Second City's TourCo, was voted Bad Dog Theatre’s Favourite Instructor in 2015, 2016, and 2018, and can be heard on multiple episodes of the award winning podcast Stop Podcasting Yourself.
Briana Rayner is an improviser, actor, voice artist, and classic typewriter enthusiast. She’s a former Artistic Director at The Instant Theatre Co, the taller half of the improv duo Virginia Jack, and a regular at Vancouver’s Queerprov show. Recent credits include The Twilight Zone, The Flash, and MENTAL. She won Leo Award Nominations for her work in the short dramas “Bruised”, RESONANCE, and The Stakeout. Briana spent five years as a dedicated clown-doctor in a long-term care facility telling purposefully bad jokes, singing songs, and tripping over her feet. In her spare time, she likes to bake and watch shark attack videos.
